FAIRFAX, Va. (CBSDC) - A man was arrested for DUI after committing a hit-and-run that damaged the garage doors of a police station in Fairfax early Thursday morning.
Police say the driver – Anthony John Skrobacz, 49, of Spotsylvania – drove a 1999 Mercury Marquis into the driveway of the City of Fairfax Police Headquarters in the 3700 block of Old Lee Highway around 2 a.m., according to 9News Now.
According to the report, he drove through the lowered garage door of the police precinct, then left the scene.
A short time after, police responded to an accident at University Drive and Willard Way, where they found the same Mercury stopped on top of a median in a private parking lot.
Skrobacz was arrested after police determined he was the same driver responsible for the damage to the headquarters building.
He is charged with driving under the influence of drugs, reckless driving and hit-and-run. His bond is set at $5,000.
No one was injured.
