Rockville Pike Re-Opened in Both Directions After Vehicle Fire

ROCKVILLE, Md. (CBSDC) – A vehicle fire that temporarily held up traffic on Rockville Pike Wednesday afternoon has been cleared out of the way.

Montgomery County Fire responded to a call in the 11400 block of Rockville Pike around 4:30 p.m. when a fire broke out in the engine compartment of a van.

Police shut down Md. Route-355 along Rockville Pike in both directions between Strathmore Rd. and Montrose Rd. while firefighters extinguished the blaze.

Eastbound lanes of Nicholson Ln. were also blocked to traffic.

The fire was extinguished and all lanes were re-opened.

No one was injured.
