GLEN BURNIE, Md. (CBSDC/AP) — Anne Arundel County police say three adults and one child were killed in a head-on collision between two vehicles in Glen Burnie.
Police say it happened Sunday afternoon on Marley Neck Road near Freeman Shores Road.
Investigators have now released the names of the victims in the crash. Police say 30-year-old driver Joseph Allen Oliver Jr. of Glen Burnie was killed, along with his passenger 18-year-old Crystal Jean Benton of Laurel. In the second vehicle, 21-year-old Brittney Marie Ziegler of Pasadena died. She was driving with 3-year-old Lilly Renee Gross, who also was killed.
A preliminary investigation reveals Oliver tried to pass traffic in a no-passing zone. That’s when his vehicle struck Ziegler’s car head-on.
