MANASSAS, Va. (CBSDC) - Virginia Railway Express says a woman was struck by a train near Manassas Friday evening.

Officials say the accident occurred between Manassas City and Manassas Park when the 338 train – bound for Union Station – struck a 38-year-old woman near Liberia Ave. before 6 p.m.

She is responsive and has been taken to a hospital with minor injuries, including a pain in her arm.

VRE says Train 335 has been cancelled but all other trains are on schedule.

This is the second person struck by a train within a month. A man was struck and killed by a VRE train near Manassas on Oct. 10.
