WASHINGTON (CBSDC)–The Washington Wizards (0-7) held practice today as they prepare for the Utah Jazz (4-5) tomorrow and a chance to tie the worst start in franchise history tomorrow, which they accomplished a year ago.

But the Wizards had some good news, Nene (foot) practiced today for the first time today since the Olympics and did some half-court sets.

“Took another step forward today,”  Wizards Head Coach Randy Wittman said on Nene and added that him and John Wall have had no setbacks.  Wittman said there is no timetable for his return though.

Yesterday, the Wizards made a move and waived guard Jannero Pargo and signed former Wizards guard & nine-year veteran Shaun Livingston to help run the point as John Wall continues to be out.

“He gives us a guy who knows how to play, good basketball IQ, he has a good feeling,”  Wittman said on Livingston. “I thought he had a good practice for the first practice.”

Wittman said he thought they needed another “playmaker” and that’s why they made the move.  He also said it gives them more size.

Livingston says it “feels good” to be here and that he’s “anxious” to get out there and says he needs to “get his legs back” and his “wind up”
after not playing so far this season.  Livingston was cut by the Houston Rockets during the preseason and has been working out in Florida the last couple of weeks.

Livingston added, “I can fit in well.”  Also said he can be a natural point guard and show his experience on the court.  Livingston also said the team runs some of the same plays that were run when he was here before.

Livingston will wear number 14.

AJ Price (ankle) says he’s “feeling good” after missing some time last game.
