LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — A missing baby has been found safe and her suspected abductors are in custody following a frenzied overnight search.

Police issued an Amber Alert for one-year-old Alexis Rose Carwile after she was abducted Thursday from Halifax, Va.

Eric Eugune Black and Jennifer Dawn Carwile, the child’s mother, are believed responsible for the abduction. Authorities felt the child was in extreme danger.

The couple was ordered to give the one-year-old to Child Protective Services, but fled before doing so according to 9News Now’s Susan Phillips.

Virginia State Police say they found Black, 41, and the 1985 Nissan station wagon he was driving around 4:30 a.m. Friday in Chesterfield County.

Jennifer Carwile, 35, and baby Alexis were located around 6:30 a.m. in Lanham, Md.
