WASHINGTON (CBSDC) - Pepco has launched a new upgraded streetlight reporting system to make reporting outages easier than ever before.
The new streamlined reporting system improves the ability of customers to use pole numbers and addresses to submit streetlight outages online.
Now, with the click of a mouse, customers can access maps depicting streetlight locations using Bing’s mapping engine, which is very easy to read and user friendly.
Pepco says with the new reporting system, after a streetlight issue has been reported, the system sends an email with a tracking number, location and pole number. When the streetlight has been submitted for repair, an icon on the map will appear red. And when the light has been repaired, that same icon will turn green.
Pepco says customers can expect most streetlights to be repaired within 15 days, and an email confirmation will be sent to the customer as soon as service request has been completed.
“This new streetlight reporting system provides customers with consistent feedback when an outage is reported and when it is restored,” said Pepco regional president Thomas Graham. “This system allows Pepco to record comprehensive outage data for streetlights and outage reports and should eliminate the data problems that result in extended streetlight outages.”
Customers can familiarize themselves with the new reporting system here.
