Fantasy football guru Dave Richard joined the Junkies this morning to offer callers advice for Week 11 in the NFL.
Dave recommended starting as many Carolina Panthers as possible, given the Bucs awful pass defense. “The Bucs secondary is almost as bad as the Redskins secondary,” Richard said. Dave is high on Cam Newton this week; three of the last four quarterbacks to face Tampa Bay have had huge fantasy games.
In terms of running backs, Richard suggested avoiding Trent Richardson if possible. “Sit Trent Richardson,” Dave said. “He has a tough match-up.” Ditto for Ryan Matthews, who Dave said is playing like “hot garbage.”
Richard is also high on Ram’s back Stephen Jackson. “The Rams came out of the bye dedicating themselves to Jackson,” Richard said. “I think Jackson’s going to have a big week.”
Dave expects quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers, Matt Stafford and Carson Palmer to put up major fantasy points this week. Dave hesitated to recommend starting Joe Flacco, who seems to play well at home and poorly on the road.
Regarding wide recievers, Dave likes Torrey Smith as a quality flex spot option. “If (Jeremy) Maclin was healthier and he had Vick at quarterback” Dave would recommend starting the Eagle’s wideout, but with a rookie quarterback under center he advises you steer clear.
