WALDORF, Md. (CBSDC) - Detectives have charged a man in the murder of a Waldorf nurse who has also been linked to another homicide in the District.
The Charles County Sheriff’s Office said detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Joshua Terrell Meban, 17, of Waldorf, in connection with the shooting death of Teresa Bass.
Bass, 40, and her husband Jerry, 43, were shot while walking their dog on a bike path behind their home in Waldorf on Oct. 26. She died a short time later and her husband was left seriously injured.
Police say they received information that Mebane was involved in a homicide in D.C. and was possibly connected to the Waldorf attack.
A joint investigation between police in D.C. and Charles County led to Mebane’s arrest on Nov. 9, charging him with the homicide in D.C. They later served a search warrant at his home where evidence was recovered linking him to the Waldorf shooting.
On Tuesday, he was charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder in the shooting death of Teresa Bass.
Police have not yet determined a motive.
