Pedestrian Struck in Busy Aspen Hill Intersection

WHEATON, Md. (CBSDC) – A pedestrian was struck by a car in Aspen Hill early Monday evening and is now battling for her life.

Montgomery County fire officials say a woman in her mid-fifties was struck while trying to cross Georgia Ave. at Kayson near Hathaway Drive in Aspen Hill just after 6:00 p.m.

The woman has been taken to a hospital where she a serious, life-threatening injury.

The southbound lanes of Georgia Ave. were blocked for multiple hours to traffic between Hewitt Ave. and Hathaway Dr. while police investigated the scene.
