Jerry Palm, of CBSSports.com, one of the most respected minds in college football joined the Junkies on Monday to analyze the new BCS standings after Alabama’s loss to Texas A&M this weekend.

Palm said he would still like to see personally see Alabama in the national championship game, but most of the country at this point would probably like to see Notre Dame and Oregon.

Notre is #1 one in the computer rankings, but still third overall in the BCS, and would most likely need an Kansas State or Oregon loss to have a shot at the BCS national championship game.

In terms of the Aggies, Palm said “it was nice to get that signature win in their first year to help build momentum for your program, and clearly Texas A&M is an up and coming if not already and “already there.”

Interesting though is that Palm is against a four-team playoff and does not think it gives us a true national champion. He would like 16-team playoff with each conference champion and fives at large bids.  He mentioned the the 4-team playoff is locked in for the next 12 years!
