WASHINGTON (CBSDC/AP) — A United Airlines flight made an emergency landing at Dulles International Airport Thursday night after a passenger began praying in the aisle.
According to KUSA-TV, the Denver-to-D.C. flight got a military escort to the airport and landed without incident 13 minutes ahead of schedule.
United Airlines spokeswoman Megan McCarthy tells The Associated Press that an emergency was reported because the man refused to follow instructions for landing.
KUSA reports that the man suffered an “emotional or mental problem.”
Police placed the unidentified man under arrest.
No one was injured on the flight.
