WOODBRIDGE, Va. (CBSDC) - Police have identified the body of a woman found in the Potomac River near Woodbridge on Wednesday.

The body of Cheryl Ann Allston, 66, of Fairfax, was discovered when a U.S. Customs and Border Protection helicopter located a body in the water off of Belmont Bay on Wednesday.

Allston was last seen Saturday, Nov. 3 at 7:00 p.m. and was reported missing by family members on Nov. 5.

An investigation into her disappearance led detectives to the area of Marina Way in Occoquan where the victim owns and docks a boat.

With the assistance of a U.S. Customs and Border Protection helicopter, the Prince William County Dive Team conducted a search of the water in the area of the dock but did not locate the victim.

They located the body after conducting another search a day later on Nov. 7.

Foul play is not believed to have occurred in this case.
