HILLCREST HEIGHTS, Md. (CBSDC) - A shooting in Hillcrest Heights Wednesday night has resulted in the death of one man and an investigation into his murder.

Prince George’s County police responded to a report of a shooting in the 3900 block of 23rd Parkway near Dunlap St. around 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening.

When police arrived on the scene they discovered a man lying outside an apartment building suffering from a gun shot wound to the head.

The man was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Police have released limited details about the case, withholding the identity of the victim, and the investigation is ongoing.

They are still trying to establish a motive.
