WASHINGTON (CBSDC) - Country music idol Kenny Chesney says his 2013 tour will be making a stop in the nation’s capital and he’s bringing a friend with him.
The Washington Redskins announced the country megastar will make FedEx Field his fifth stop on the “No Shoes Nation Tour” on Saturday, May 25 of next year. Chesney will be accompanied by Eric Church in his D.C. appearance, as well as Eli Young Band and Kacey Musgraves.
Chesney, a four-time CMA ‘Entertainer of the Year’ winner, has played a country music record 85 stadium shows in his career, and FedEx Field will mark number 90.
“The combination of two of the most talented and high energy entertainers, Kenny Chesney and Eric Church, will give fans the ultimate music experience at FedExField,” said Washington Redskins Chief Marketing Officer Mitch Gershman. “As well as an unforgettable way to kick off the summer.”
Tickets go on sale Friday, Dec. 7 at 10:00 a.m.
