ALEXANDRIA, Va. (CBSDC/AP) — A Maryland man has pleaded guilty to sex trafficking a 15-year-old runaway.
Twenty-nine-year-old Julio Cesar Revolorio Ramos of Adelphi, Md., entered the plea on Wednesday. He faces a maximum of life in prison at sentencing Feb. 8.
Prosecutors say Ramos and a conspirator encouraged the girl to work as a prostitute, arranging for her to engage in sex acts with more than a dozen men daily.
“Ramos admitted that he recruited a 15-year-old girl and marketed her youth to customers who sought out young girls for sex,” said Neil MacBride, the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia.
On the first day, Ramos scheduled the girl to have relations with seventeen customers and by her third day, that number jumped to 25.
Ramos gave a portion of the prostitution proceeds as “rent” to MS-13 gang members who had threatened him with violence. He also sent money to co-conspirators in Mexico.
He also admitted he prostituted other Hispanic women and girls – most of which were illegal immigrants – in Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and D.C.
