WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – Police are still investigating the discovery of a body near a burning vehicle in NE late Wednesday evening.

The D.C. Fire Department responded to a report of a car fire at 1401 Brentwood Parkway in NE just after 9:00 p.m.

Upon arrival they firefighters discovered body next to a burning car.

The fire was extinguished and the body was taken to the Medical Examiner’s office.

However, after further investigation of the car fire the incident was determined to be the result of a collision and not suspicious in nature.
