Alligator Found at Suspected Drug Home of Gang Member in Md.

JESSUP, Md. (CBSDC) — Police in Maryland seized more than just drugs while serving a warrant last week.

Officers say a three-foot American Alligator was discovered at a home suspected of trafficking drugs in Jessup on Nov. 2.

Animal Control officials took possession of the alligator and say it is in good health. The gator has been transported to a facility for exotic animals.

It is illegal for private residences to possess alligators in Anne Arundel County.

In addition to the alligator, police have seized 159 grams of high-grade marijuana with an estimated street value of $3,180. Paraphernalia was also taken from the residence.

Police have charge 32-year-old Michael Golden, of the 7500 block of Gleneagle Drive, with two marijuana related charges. Additional charges are pending in the case.

Authorities also believe Golden is connected to the Dead Man Inc. street gang.
