Ryan: Obama Appealing To ‘Lowest Fears’

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan is pitching the GOP ticket as one focused on serious solutions in the face of opponents “appealing to our lowest fears.”

Ryan’s latest trip into battleground Virginia consisted of a brief rally at an airport hangar, his chartered jet just outside the open door. Hundreds chanted “three more days” — the time left until Election Day.

Ryan says that Romney’s experience in business and government makes him best suited to handle the country’s economic problems.

The Republican ticket has concentrated heavily on southern Virginia to help flip a state Democrats won four years ago. Mitt Romney was to return to the area on Sunday and again on Monday.

Democratic President Barack Obama was campaigning further north later Saturday. Thirteen electoral votes are at stake.
