SPRINGFIELD, Va. (CBSDC) - The serial fondler may have claimed his 8th victim on Thursday afternoon, police say.
A 23-year old woman was groped from behind while standing at a bus stop at around 4 p.m. in Springfield, Va.
“She heard someone very quietly come up from behind her. The person grabbed her, fondled her,” said Fairfax Police Spokeswoman Lucy Caldwell. “She screamed and the person fled.”
The incident occurred on the 7200 block of Commerce Street and is another in a string of incidents that began in early September.
The most recent of these attacks occurred on October 25th near Lake Pleasant and Edinburgh Drive.
Authorities have canvassed the neighborhood, increased police presence and spoken to residents in the area, said Caldwell.
Victims have described their attacker as a Hispanic male, in his 30’s, standing 5 feet 8 inches tall with dark eyes and a trimmed beard.
