WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – Metro’s Red Line is single tracking between Friendship Heights and Medical Center causing delays of up to 20 minutes for commuters.
Metro says the trains are single tracking because of a track problem – something Metro is calling an “Arching Insulator” – that caused sparks on the track and may have left behind some smoke.
Customers heading to Shady Grove are experiencing delays of up to 20 minutes.
