RICHMOND, Va. — Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney is returning to Virginia as Election Day nears.
The former Massachusetts governor is scheduled to make stops across Virginia on Thursday after canceling events on Sunday ahead of superstorm Sandy.
According to his campaign website, Romney is scheduled to attend a rally at Integrity Windows and Doors in Roanoke on Thursday morning, and then travel to Doswell for a rally at Meadow Event Park in the afternoon. Romney is then set to attend a rally at Farm Bureau Live Amphitheater in Virginia Beach later Thursday evening.
Polls show Virginia among the last handful of states where the election is a toss-up. In 2008, President Barack Obama became the first Democratic presidential candidate to carry Virginia since 1964.
