LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — Halloween has come and gone, leaving only smashed pumpkins and thousands of pounds of candy behind.
It’s easy enough to throw away the pumpkins, but what about the excess candy?
Operation Gratitude, a non-profit agency which helps military troops, is enlisting dentists to collect the candy and ship it service members currently serving overseas.
Participating dental offices are paying people with coupons, toothbrushes, and even cash for the sweets they bring in as part of the Halloween Candy Buyback.
You can find a list of participating dental offices on the agency’s website.
