WASHINGTON (AP) — A Washington man has pleaded guilty fatally shooting his 13-year-old daughter in the head.
Forty-one-year-old Robert Carter pleaded guilty to first-degree murder while armed in the 2010 shooting of Angel Morse. He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 30 years in prison at sentencing Jan. 11.
Prosecutors say on Oct. 29, 2010, Carter went to his former girlfriend’s home, took his daughter to the basement and shot her.
Carter also held several people, including children, against their will in the home. When his ex-girlfriend arrived at the home, Carter pointed a gun at her and a 10-year-old boy lunged at Carter.
The boy and the ex-girlfriend were shot and injured.
