LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — With the worst of Hurricane Sandy in the rear view mirror, cabin fever is beginning to set in.

But thanks to social media, Washington residents now have a guide on where they can go to stave off the madness.

Although the federal government, schools and countless other locations remain closed, there are a number of restaurants and other businesses that have already dried out and are welcoming customers.

To get the word out, they have turned to Twitter and the hashtag “OpenInDC.”

With Metro resuming service Tuesday afternoon, accessing these locations should prove to be an easier feat.

District favorites such as Ben’s Chili Bowl, Busboy and Poets, The Palm and all Chef Geoff’s locations are open for business.
