WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – Metro riders will have to find another mode of transportation Tuesday morning.
Metrorail and Metro bus will continue to suspend service through the morning hours, and will then assess the damage from Hurricane Sandy at that time. Metro says personnel will perform a “comprehensive damage assessment, including inspections of track, bridges, aerial structures, stations and facilities.”
Restoration of service is also contingent on an adequate amount of electricity to support the trains’ operations and to make necessary storm-related repairs.
Restoration for Metrobus routes will vary by route and road conditions at the time of the announcement.
MetroAccess service will remain suspended all day Tuesday.
