WOODBRIDGE, Va. (CBSDC) - Someone burglarized a day school for children in Woodbridge, stole a van and some video games, then later torched the van.
Police responded to a burglary call at Minnieland Day School at 4290 Prince William Parkway in Woodbridge around 10:50 a.m. on Wednesday.
School staff told police sometime overnight someone had entered the school through an unlocked window by cutting through a screen.
One of the facility’s vans was reported stolen, as well as a gaming console with games and equipment, valued at about $500.
Later that same day, police responded to the 2400 block of East Longview Drive for a vehicle fire, where firefighters had extinguished a van, later determined to be the van stolen from the school’s property.
The total loss was determined to be around $43,000.
