The Redskins held an open locker room this morning as Pierre Garçon spoke to the media for the first time since meeting with Dr. Anderson yesterday in North Carolina.
Garçon confirmed that he has a tear in the bottom of his foot, second toe, and right now “there is no real timetable” and he has chosen just to rest. Garçon added that there really isn’t that much treatment and if he had surgery he would probably miss the season.
“I don’t want to be on the sideline,” Garçon. “It’s frustrating.”
Garçon said they’ll keep trying with it, but it’s likely he won’t play until after the bye week. He also said that he felt it for the first time in the preseason, but played through it. He first felt a “pop” in New Orleans.
It was also the first time that the media had a chance to speak with Jim Haslett since the defense gave up a 77-yard touchdown late in the game on Sunday to Victor Cruz.
“We just didn’t execute,” Haslett said on the play.
London Fletcher is a huge question mark on Sunday & Jim Haslett would only say, “Hopefully he’ll be cleared.”
