LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — The bodies of three people killed in an accident early Thursday morning in Howard County have been identified.
Police say the victims – all Hyattsville residents – were Degly Ubaldo Monroy Melendez, 20, Carlos Osorio, 25, and Oscar Osorio, 31, of which the latter two were brothers.
Police say the wreck occurred in the southbound lanes of Route 1 near Route 100 in Elkridge. Traffic was closed in both directions between State Route 100 and Waterloo Rd. for hours as police investigated the accident.
Melendez was driving the car, believed to be a Chevrolet Impala, when it collided with a tractor-trailer as the truck was pulling into its company lot around 6 a.m. Thursday.
All-News 99.1 WNEW report John Domen described the scene as a “mangled mess.”
The truck driver left the scene uninjured.
