LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — Backlick Road has reopened between John Marr Drive and Little River Turnpike in Annandale, Va. following a fatal early morning crash.

Police say the accident occurred around 2:15 a.m. Thursday. The wreck claimed the life of a driver who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Backlick Road had been closed for nearly four hours while police investigated the accident.
