ROCKVILLE, Md. (CBSDC/AP) — A Virginia woman has been charged with first-degree assault after police say she tried to drive her car into a security officer outside Walter Reed Hospital in Bethesda.
Angela Akosua Cobbold is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday afternoon.
Police say Cobbold struck another car with her vehicle while trying to make a U-Turn Tuesday at an entrance gate of the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Police say she drove away, then returned to the area and attempted to run over a security officer with her car. The officer shot at the Cobbold’s car, but she wasn’t injured. She was taken into custody after crashing her car.
It wasn’t immediately clear if Cobbold had a lawyer, and no phone number could immediately be found for her.
