Ronnie Mervis Talks Nude Beaches, South Africa Trip with the Junkies
More From The Sports Junkies
LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — Ronnie Mervis was in rare form as he joined the Sports Junkies on 106.7 The Fan Tuesday morning.
Mervis, a local celebrity known for his wildly popular “theater of the mind” radio commercials, is offering visitors an opportunity to see the South Africa he knows. The master jeweler grew up in the country before coming to America and founding Mervis Diamond Importers.
The Mervis Diamond-CBS Trip to South Africa and Safari gives listeners the opportunity to get up close and personal with the animals of the jungle, among many other activities. Mervis guarantees no one will be injured while on safari. He says the men with guns inside the vehicles will ensure lions, buffaloes, leopards and other predators do not jump in for the ride.
Also on the itinerary: Beaches.
Unlike in America, nude beaches appear to be plentiful in Mervis’ native land and he tells the Junkies the views are amazing.
“This is scenery, let me tell ya,” Mervis joked. “You go to one of those beaches, you’ll see a hundred Charlize Therons.”
As for whether he has joined in the fun?
“What do you do when you go to Rome? You do what the Romans do,” he said.
