LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — Alfred Morris, not Robert Griffin III, is nominated for Pepsi Max NFL Rookie of the Week honors for his performance in Week 7.
Morris, a sixth-round draft pick from Florida Atlantic, rushed for 120 yards on 22 carries in the Washington Redskins’ heartbreaking loss to the New York Giants.
In comparison, Griffin passed for 258 yards with two touchdowns and an interception behind a 20-of-28 effort.
New England Patriots linebacker Dont’a Hightower (7 tackles, one sack), Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck (16-of-29, 186 yards, 2 touchdowns), Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Doug Martin (85 yards, 1 touchdown) and Minnesota Vikings safety Harrison Smith (5 tackles, interception return for touchdown) were also nominated.
