LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — The Washington Redskins may not have Pierre Garcon back for another three weeks.
The ailing wide receiver has a minor tear in his foot and has been told by doctors the situation will get worse if he does not rest it, a source tells 106.7 The Fan’s Grant Paulsen.
Ironically, the injury would prove far less crippling to a lineman. Garcon’s tear greatly hinders his explosiveness and speed.
It is not a certainty he will be sidelined for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Carolina Panthers, though that appears to be the direction the Redskins are leaning.
When on the field, Garcon is a favorite target of Robert Griffin III. The pair have connected eight times, including an 88-yard touchdown in the season opener, in the three game Garcon has played.
He has not played since the Oct. 7 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
