WASHINGTON (CBSDC/AP) — Motorists in the Washington metro area are paying seven cents less at the pump when compared to a week ago.
AAA Mid-Atlantic said Sunday in a weekly report that the average price of a gallon of regular gas in the D.C. metro area is $3.66 this week. That’s compared to $3.73 a week ago.
Still, motorists in the region are paying more than a year ago. At this time last year drivers were paying $3.44 per gallon.
The price of gas in the region is two cents less than the national average. AAA says the lower price is part of a seasonal price decline.
