ASHBURN (CBSDC)–The Redskins held their second practice today in preparation for the New York Giants on Sunday and it’s a “long shot” if Pierre Garçon plays on Sunday.
That’s what Redskins Head Coach Mike Shanahan said today about Garçon, whose already missed three games this season with a toe injury.
“He got a shot yesterday,” Redskins Head Coach Mike Shanahan said on Garçon. “Yeah, I think it will help him.”
But Garçon didn’t attend practice today and was kept off his feet today and likely tomorrow. Garçon is a “long shot” according to Shanahan in case somebody get’s hurt tomorrow or something happens and he has to play on Sunday.
Besides Garçon & Brandon Meriweather (knee, already out for Sunday) who didn’t practice, David Jones (Achilles) also didn’t practice. Darrel Young (hamstring), Sav Rocca (right knee), Cedric Griffin (hamstring), DeAngelo Hall (knee), Jordan Pugh (concussion) & Doug Worthington (calf) were limited in practice today.
Redskins Offensive Coordinator Kyle Shanahan spoke for the first time since Robert Griffin III’s 76-yard touchdown run last week and is still smiling about it.
“I was ecstatic,” Kyle Shanahan said. “That was as good a play as I’ve been a part of.”
Shanahan jokingly said, “Oh yeah, it was definitely how I designed it…”
