LYNCHBURG, Va. — Paul Ryan is set to bring an aggressive Republican presidential campaign into Virginia, a state where polls show the GOP all but wiping out a lead President Barack Obama held just two weeks ago.
Mitt Romney’s vice presidential running mate is due for a double dip Tuesday with a Lynchburg rally around noon and another at 6:30 in Fredericksburg.
The two events come just hours before Romney and Obama meet in the second of three scheduled debates. Obama’s polling numbers began to ebb after his lackluster Oct. 3 debate with Romney, and the GOP ticket has picked up its pace in Virginia and other battleground states since.
Obama spent a three-day weekend closeted in Williamsburg preparing for the debate.
