Northwood High School Student in Custody for Allegedly Stabbing Classmate

SILVER SPRING, Md. (CBSDC) — A 15-year-old has been taken to the hospital after he was stabbed by a fellow student at Northwood High School in Silver Spring Monday morning.

Police say they have an 18-year-old in custody who is allegedly responsible for the stabbing. A weapon believed to have been used in the assault has also been recovered.

The victim, who suffered non-life threatening injuries, was attacked near the school’s cafeteria around 11 a.m. He did not initially cooperate in the investigation.

Authorities are reviewing surveillance video and interviewing witnesses at the school to determine exactly what happened.
