ASHBURN, Va. (CBSDC) – Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan spoke with the media Monday afternoon following the team’s 38-26 win over the Minnesota Vikings.
Shanahan says Pierre Garçon, who missed his third game of the season with an ailing toe, might not be back anytime soon.
“That toe is quite sore,” Shanahan said. “He’s not close to anywhere near full speed. It’s just a little painful.”
An MRI conducted on the wide receiver shows some inflammation. Rest is the only cure for the digit and his status is unknown for next week.
The NFL has not spoken with the Redskins regarding a possible fine for their vague status update after Robert Griffin III exited the Week 5 contest against the Atlanta Falcons with what would later be revealed as a concussion. The team announced the quarterback was “shaken up,” which may have violated league protocol.
A report published Sunday suggested the team may be fined for the terminology.
