ALEXANDRIA, Va. (CBSDC) — A 20-year-old woman says she was sexually assaulted at knifepoint in Alexandria.
The assault occurred around 11:30 p.m. on Oct. 11 as the woman walked near the intersection of Van Dorn St. and Courtney Ave.
Police say a man approached the woman and initially demanded money, but pulled her into nearby bushes to sexually assault her after she said didn’t have any cash.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his late 20′s or early 30′s, who is approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds. The clean shaven man had short black hair and was wearing a dark brown T-shirt, blue jeans, tennis shoes and black framed glasses at the time of the assault.
The woman was not seriously injured.
Police do not believe the case is related to similar assaults that have occurred in the Holmes Run Parkway area.
