ARLINGTON, Va. (CBSDC) — The city of Arlington is giving its residents an opportunity to do a little spring cleaning in October.

The Arlington Environmental Collection and Recycling Event (E-Care) gives people the opportunity to safely dispose of everything from hazardous materials to shoes, bed frames and even bicycles.

City officials say people must bring a valid ID to prove Arlington residency in order to participate.

The event is taking place Saturday, from 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Thomas Jefferson Middle School.

Business and commercial waste will not be accepted.

A full list of acceptable items is available on the event website.
