SILVER SPRING, Md. (CBSDC) — A four-year-old child has been taken to the hospital in serious condition after he fell 80-feet from a window in Silver Spring.

A spokesperson with Montgomery County Fire and Rescue says the boy fell out of a ninth floor apartment window in the 8800 block of Piney Branch Road around 3:15 p.m.

The child’s fall was broken by a tree branch according to 9News Now’s Ken Molestina.

Police are investigating the incident.
