Fatality Makes for Long VRE Commute
ASHBURN, Va. (CBSDC) — Virginia Railways Express trains have resumed normal service after a man was struck and killed on the tracks Wednesday afternoon.
VRE officials say the male was struck between the Burke Center and Manassas Park stations just before 6:00 p.m.
Nine buses were used to shuttle passengers between the stations.
In September, the rail service experienced massive delays after a bag containing remains were found along a portion of tracks near Manassas Park. Service was suspended for hours as officials investigated.
The remains were later determined not to be human.
