LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — Need a taxi in the District? There’s an app for that.

myTaxi, a wildly popular mobile app in Europe, makes its U.S. debut in Washington on Wednesday.

The free app allows users to virtually hail a cab, track its arrival time and even provides the driver’s name and photo. Passengers may also pay their fare using their smartphone and rate the driver and riding experience after being dropped off.

myTaxi is available in more than 30 cities worldwide.
