HARWOOD, Md. (CBSDC) - A teenager was involved in a serious car crash when his car overturned in Southern Maryland and the situation has since turned life-threatening.
The driver – a 17-year-old male – overturned his car near Southern High School past the intersection of Harwood Road and Solomons Island Road in Anne Arundel County just after 5:00 p.m.
The trapped alone in the car at the time emergency crews arrived. Anne Arundel County Fire officials say the jaws of life were used to remove the male from the wrecked vehicle.
He was then transported to shock trauma in Baltimore with potentially life-threatening injuries.
Crews are beginning to clear the scene of the accident.
