CALVERT COUNTY, Md. (CBSDC) - A fatal accident occurred Tuesday evening in Calvert County when a driver’s car surged into oncoming traffic.

Officials say an unidentified female driver was traveling southbound on Route 4 in Calvert County when she suddenly cut across the median and into northbound traffic around 5:42 p.m.

Two other vehicles heading northbound at the time were also involved in the crash.

One person was dead on arrival of emergency crews.

It is uncertain whether any other victims were transported or what their condition may be. It is also uncertain whether the female driver at fault was the only person in her car.
