WASHINGTON (CBSDC) - Metro is sporting a brand new look with the new “7000-rail car” nearing ready for full-scale production.

The transit company is taking a step towards the next generation of mass transit with its new line of metallic metro cars in what Metro is calling its largest investment in the transit system’s history.

Metro’s new cars boast more modern safety features, a more spacious design, and LCD map displays – all of which can be seen in a new teaser trailer released Friday.

Engineers and employees are still reviewing and critiquing the new trains before finalizing the look for mass production, but Metro says an announcement for the official unveiling should come sometime next week.
