WASHINGTON — The president of the D.C. Chamber of Commerce is set to take her seat on a regional airports board.
Barbara Lang will be sworn in Thursday to a new seat on the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority.
Lang was appointed by Mayor Vincent Gray and confirmed by the D.C. Council, which approved a bill Tuesday that increases the size of the airports board and gives more representation to Virginia and the District of Columbia.
The board oversees Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Washington Dulles International Airport. Virginia leaders had pushed for more seats on the board in part because it’s handling the $5.6 billion expansion of Metrorail service to Dulles.
Lang is a friend and supporter of Gray, who will speak at her swearing-in ceremony.
