LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — Two teens have been struck by a car as they walked to school Wednesday morning in Colesville, Md.
The accident occurred shortly before 7 a.m. near the Pilgrim Hill Recreation Center on Randolph Rd.
The driver was trapped inside their vehicle following the crash.
The teens and the driver have been taken to a local hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries, Montgomery County rescue officials say.
It is unclear what caused the crash, though the road was wet due to recent rain showers.
Traffic is running without issue through the area.
Millions of kids walked or biked to school Wednesday morning as part of National Walk to School Day. Some school districts added additional crossing guards and police patrols for the occasion.
