LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — A school bus bound for Annandale High School has crashed in Fairfax County.
No students were injured in the crash that occurred around 6:50 a.m. on Little River Turnpike and Medford Drive.
However, Fairfax County Police say one or two people have been taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
A portion of Little River Turnpike has been closed while the accident scene was cleaned up. Police are directing traffic at the scene.
Metro says the street closure is impacting a number of bus routes. The 3A, 16A, 16B, 29C, 29G, 29K and 29N buses are being impacted.
The crash is at least the second involving students in the Washington area. Two teens were struck as they walked to school in Colesville, Md. shortly before 7 a.m.
